Like the pop of a champagne cork, there is anticipation and even planning (the perfect champagne must be selected, the person chosen to do the task, then the bubbles begin to rise – sparkling excitement ready to bubble over). Then, there’s a pop! Everyone cheers. The moment was worth every penny, every gasp. But the great excitement has quickly subsided. It’s true that the very best part is still to come – you still get to sip on your carefully selected beverage, just as you leave your wedding with the very best part of the occasion; your spouse. You are now husband a wife! In the evenings, we sometimes choose to share a bottle of good champagne in simple celebration of how much we love what we do every single day. As we drink to our happiness, we often muse at how one day, a granddaughter of one of our couples will find the wedding pictures we had taken – probably in a computer file on some miniscule laptop (maybe she’ll have just come inside from a quick ride on her hoverboard). She’ll gaze wide-eyed as she scrolls through the gallery. She’ll exclaim, “Grandma was so beautiful! Grandpa was so happy! The reason we make such a great couple is that we compliment each other. Whatever Ariel struggles with, Mathew excels at and vice versa. And most importantly, we’re in constant communication. We weave in and out of working separately (perhaps Ariel snaps getting ready shots with the ladies, while Mathew is documenting a groomsman-led cheers) and together (snagging complimentary, yet differing angles during the ceremony) and we do it seamlessly.
