Travis and Karin’s Villa Parker Wedding
Travis and Karin had visions of a winter wonderland Villa Parker Wedding – a day of love framed in drifting snow. Unfortunately, this December wedding was as a warm as a mid autumn day, with not a speck of icy precipitation in sight. But, not to worry! This couple ensured that once their guests stepped inside the gorgeous gates for their Villa Parker Wedding, they were also transported into a winter wonderland of their own making.
Frosted pinecones and glistening tree branches edged every chair and table. Icy blue draped everything from the couple’s flower girls to the venue’s pillars, via up-lighting. But most importantly, the warm and cozy atmosphere set by this crowd made every guest feel as though the were snuggled up to a fire during the flurriest of flurries, with a favorite book in hand and a cup of rich hot chocolate within reach.
Travis and Karin both work to help others and are two of the sweetest people one could hope to photograph. Karin began the day in the bridal suite eating Voodoo doughnuts and chatting with her flower girls, as Travis passed the time with a screening of the Broncos game. All were happy as could be, and so calm, you would barely know they were tying the knot that very evening! But when the time came, both bride and groom shed touching tears of joy.
One of the most touching moments of the evening came when Travis’s brother had a video shown. Travis’s brother was unable to make the new Smiths’ wedding due to the fact that he is stationed out of the country with the military. The video flashed childhood scenes of the two. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
In the end, the “wonderland” was created by the couple and those whom they love. The romance of snow was just not needed with all the human romance around. Nothing makes you feel warm and cozy like your first dance, first kiss, or first evening as a married couple.
