Christie & Chase’s Downtown Denver Engagement Photography
Winter is a magical time in Denver, Colorado. Snow is one of the most beautiful additions to a photograph of a lovely couple and the overcast days add an artistically black and white-ish wash to our images; like a stroke of gray watercolor. But despite the fact that our gorgeous couples make every shot a thing of beauty, we sometimes miss spring’s greenery, summer’s sunny gold, or the oranges of autumn. Occasionally, come January, we wedding photographers become nostalgic for warmer months. Luckily, Christie and Chase chose to have their winter session in downtown Denver. We knew this was a fantastic choice… you don’t have to worry about the absent leaves when surrounded by towering architecture. But this downtown Denver engagement photography session ended up doing us one better – we met our couple under the shining sun and amidst 50°F temperatures!
As a couple, Christie and Chase are easy to laugh and simply never released a point of contact; engagement session perfection. It was clear that these two really enjoyed spending time with each other. And we must say, we enjoyed spending time with them too! Our downtown stroll began on Denver’s Millennium Bridge. The clean architectural angles of the structure were like a frame for our amazingly photogenic fiancés. Our next stop was just down the west staircase at Commons Park, where Christie and Chase ambled across our city’s version of a rolling hill. These guys were so cute and playful – frolicking suited them quite well. But stylish as they were, the old world charm of Union Station was equally fitting. They looked like a pair of movie stars kissing in front of the newly revamped iconic Colorado spot. Our evening ended on Larimer Street, under the well-known and glittering arch of twinkle lights. Due to the Bronco’s big upcoming game, the block was swathed in orange and blue; united in the colors, in fact. But not to worry! These cuties came prepared with Broncos hats and a sense of levity.
As the sun set, spattering color across the skyline, we wrapped up our session. No, it was not summer. It wasn’t even spring or fall, but we loved this engagement session. It was filled with sun, fun, and love.
